Congratulations on making it to a new year! If you’re like any of us on the GuessworkVR team, you’re breathing a sigh of relief. If not, well, you probably realize that time is a human construct and a new year is just our way of determining the 0 degree point on our elliptical route around the sun and new years resolutions are just an excuse to pretend like you’re going to finally change for the better before ordering another pizza and playing video games all day.

Too soon?

At our studio, our new years resolution is to finish our UNDR[H2O] demo for Oculus Launch Pad and we just have 23 more days to do so! This is one resolution that isn’t pretend, as we enter into voluntary crunch mode to try and make an experience worth sharing with the world.

Due to the extra time we need to spend on development, testing and final documents, the January Friday updates will be kept fairly short. We’ll give you a few details on what’s up and maybe a sneak peek (if you’re lucky)!

Last night we had a lengthy team meeting as we went over our full length playthrough video. We broke down what’s working, what’s not, and what we still need to get done (Hint: It’s a lot!). Regardless, the team is extremely proud of what we have so far and we’re so excited to show you what we’ve been working on. So very excited that we’ll be making an appearance at virtual COGG (Central Ohio Gamedev Group) this Friday at their Prototype and Play event!

We’ll be sharing the current playthrough as well as getting feedback on what we have so far. If you’d like to see what we’ve been working on, that’s the one and only place (for now)!

In the meantime, here is another concept image of another character in Marco’s basement. The original and full-sized BEEP Bot. The watcher of the pipes and the bane to Marco’s existence. He may not look like much now, but…

Well, I guess you’ll just have to wait to find out more. 🙂

Until next time!
