Written by GDEX is this weekend, and we have some awesome details to share with you about what we have in store for you at the convention, including the opportunity to become a character in our first game, UNDR[H2O].
For those who aren’t familiar, GDEX is a gaming convention in Columbus, Ohio that showcases a lot of indie developers like us. You can find all the details in one of our earlier articles about the convention, but here are the basics:
- This Saturday and Sunday (October 29 and 30)
- At the COSI Science Center
- Activities include raffles, tournaments, workshops, guest speakers and more
Several indie developers will be attending alongside their latest projects, and we are happy to be one of those exhibitors. For the first time, we’ll be showing off a playable demo of UNDR[H2O] to the public! The demo will showcase the game’s Endless Mode, which will pit you against the leaks for as long as you can stay afloat. We’re so excited to have you all play our game, and we even have some rewards for those who do give it a shot.
Our booth will occupy spaces 38 and 39 of the main exhibitor hall this weekend, which puts us near the middle of the floor. You’ll find us between Open Realm on one side and CCAD on the other, with Ohio University to our backs. Stop by and check out what we’ve been working on!
We have a limited number of physical prizes to give away on a “first play, first served” basis. Our booth will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to stop by, play our game, and win a sweet prize.
Not only are we rewarding our players, but we’re also giving some extra special rewards to our best players. We’ll have a leaderboard posted at the booth to keep track of the weekend’s best. The top 10 players at the end of the convention will have their names featured on the in-game local leaderboard when UNDR[H2O] is released.
And the grand prize? The weekend’s top scorer will be immortalized in UNDR[H2O] as a character in the game’s story mode.
So come give it your best shot this weekend, and with any luck, you’ll be featured in our game’s final release! And if you’re not in the top 10, at least you’ll walk away from our booth with a cool prize and a little experience as a VR plumber. We’ll see you this weekend!
