Hi everyone! We hope it’s been a happy holiday season for you all. Today, we emerge from our months-long slumber to let you know what we’ve been working on. Here’s a hint: it’s a lot.
Since you last heard from us, we’ve made more progress on UNDR[H2O] than we have in any span since we spawned the idea back in 2016. We’ve got guys crafting lots of backstory for our world. We have guys modeling and animating everything from futuristic submarines to skittering little creatures. Other updates and overhauls are happening across the board to help the story and game mechanics come together. So far, the results have all been promising: UNDR[H2O] is better than ever.
That’s how game development is supposed to work, right?
We’re crossing our fingers that this year might finally be the year we launch UNDR[H2O]. Don’t quote us on that, because it’s not definite. But if we’re able to keep developing at this rate, it might just happen.
Those of you who follow us on social media seemed to really enjoy the sneak peeks into development in our weekly #WednesdayWrapUp posts. When we cranked up development, we ended up with a lot of concepts that we weren’t sure if we would use or not. We put the #WednesdayWrapUp series on hold, because we didn’t want to show you content that you might never see again. But now that we have a better idea of where we’re at and where we’re headed, we will be restarting the series today and publishing even more content than before. If you’re not following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram yet, then you should hop on it so you don’t miss out.
We’ll also be starting a new series to discuss some of UNDR[H2O]’s backstory so you can learn more about the world before you hop in for yourselves. Look out for those on the website beginning in the next couple weeks.
Oh, and we’ve also confirmed our first two appearances for 2019 where we’ll show the latest build of UNDR[H2O]! Up first is the Business of Games Summit hosted by Ohio University’s College of Business on Feb. 22. You might remember that we attended the summit last year and won the Best Exhibitor Award for UNDR[H2O]. We’re always glad for an excuse to head back to our alma mater, and we hope you’ll join us there. After that, we’re attending MakerX in Columbus on April 6. This year, MakerX will take over the Ohio Expo Center at the state fairgrounds, which is awesome.
As always, we’ll share the details for those events as the dates get closer.
We’re also working on attending a third event in early 2019, but we haven’t confirmed it just yet. If the pieces fall into place, it should be the largest one we’ve attended, so we really hope it all works out!
To wrap up, we never left. We’ve just been lurking in the shadows, quietly sharpening our skills and perfecting the craft. Or something like that. Long story short, we’ve put a lot of work into UNDR[H2O] lately, and we’re ready to show it off over the coming weeks and months.
Here’s to a fantastic 2019 for all!
